Money and Life: Making It Work!

Money, we all need it. Yet, how do we balance our need for money with other important values in our lives, such as living with meaning, time for family and friends, and community involvement. This five-session course explores how to let go of old ways of relating to money and create a plan for a healthy financial future, as part of sustainable living.

This five-session course was developed by Jackie Gendre, who brings 15 years of experience as a home economist, and Lori Thesen, who brings 12 years of experience in banking and business education.

The Art of Mindful Living

Today's environment cultivates perpetual activity that can become overwhelming with demands, worries and distractions leaving little time to reflect upon what has meaning in your life. This two-session course introduces meditative and reflective practices designed to restore personal balance and sense of place. Participants will discover how to develop their own meditative/reflective style to deepen awareness and connectedness to facilitate mindful living.

This course was developed by Kathy Patterson who blends six years of experience as a professional trainer with her meditation and visualization processes.

Shared Voices: Consensus Decision-Making

This course offers the opportunity to learn a more participatory form of decision-making called consensus-building. Consensus processes find the common ground between all participants as a way to build on the contributions and perspectives of all participants and craft a way forward that all agree to. The potential of consensus-building is exciting and important and can be applied in most work, family and community situations.

This six-session course was developed by Laura McDonnell, an adult educator and instructional technology designer, who brings a deep passion for the study and practice of consensual decision-making.
